ANDHRA PRADESH STORY 1. Malupu (Major Turn)
Hi Reader, This is the first part of many more to come under THE
ANDHRAPRADESH STORY. This is going to involve a lot of politics and I’m not sorry
if anything said hurts you because of
your allegiance to any political party in Andhra.
For anyone who’s past 20 years in
2024 residing in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the formation of Telangana holds
a significant point in their core memories ,bandhs happening all around and
schools not being functional as expected in 2013, as kids they would’ve enjoyed
all those days because of the holidays they were getting, Sadly I was in my 10th
standard I didn’t an opportunity, That event also triggered all of people from
the coastal Andhra especially within youngsters to question why does the people
of Telangana wanted to have a separate state. Honestly there was chaos and mess
happening at that time. No one would’ve imagined the chain reactions would’ve led
to the situations right now in 2024.
We’re not going to back and revisit
behind the reasons for separation. We’re going to talk about things which were
sidelined. When the then Govt. at the centre decided to split the state into
the two, representatives from the residual (coastal Andhra+ Seema) state were
hell bent on not happening it, If only they were working along with centre in
demanding their fair share and assistance things would’ve been very much
different. Be it people or the leaders they were not thinking what next has to
happen but about how to secure Hyderabad probably due to their businesses situated
in the capital. Some people even went on to say that Hyderabad has to be made a
UT which was very salty. Leaders from the residual state have not said about
how the division has to happen which has affected deeply, even the public were
not aware of that, because they were hell bent on not letting the state to divide.
The Day has come, the Congress
govt. has put forward the bill to divide the state. The MPs from the Residual
state of Andhra were protesting and have created menace in the parliament. And for
the first time in the history of parliament the protesting MP’s were thrown out,
TV’s were shut and the bill was passed, dividing the state. This happened just
a few months before the general Election, thus causing Congress do it’s Basmasura
feat. An Unfair bill was passed pissing off the people of Andhra with congress
losing so badly that congress has vanished completely from Andhra Pradesh and
has put themselves in the opposition. Only if Congress had taken time and dd
the division fairly enough with no part of then Andhra Pradesh wouldn’t have
any disadvantage, a grave mistake from Congress costed its existence in a state
where they had won consecutively.
All this was prior 2014 General
Elections and in the next Chapter we will see about the Reorg. Act, General Elections
and their aftermath.
