My thoughts after watching Deadpool
and Wolverine 2024
I went to watch the film with no expectations in my mind, considering the fan in me won’t get disappointed with how Wolverine will be portrayed , and It did was the one good thing I had done. I have enjoyed the film, the entire time started with a marvelous opening credit, the usual Deadpool comic relief and those innumerable cameos. Overall it wasn’t really a great film nor a bad film. It felt like a Telugu biggie movie where it’s all about catering to their fanbase with a wafer thin plotline. Now just bear me and read through why did I felt so
Going into the details from the proceedings, liked all
the technical aspects , the slo mo cuts, the score . The weakest link here is
the writing , it felt like everything was rushed you don’t get to have any
emotional connect with the characters ( unless you watched Logan and Deadpool2
before you have seen the latest one). They stuck with their(Ryan&shawn’s)
strong zone which is comedy. All of the jokes were well received in the
theatre, may be the reason for the lack of emotional depth to both the leading
men. Logan has left a legacy in the world of superhero films, he as an arc and
purpose and especially he was never a conventional superhero which makes him
loved by the people. When MCU said they’re bringing him into the Multiverse, it
wasn’t well received because of the Ending Logan got. I haven’t felt any
connect with the current logan in this universe , it was very vague and not
explored properly and story too feels a bit stretched at times.
Post Avengers: Endgame all the films with Multiversal
travel being part of the plot doesn’t really stood out almost from the
proceedings all of them feel the same way. The explanations also seem not so
convincing which the Studios has to think about. It did happened here, wade
travelled to another universe for what?? Why did Logan in this Universe wants
to Deadpool?? May be if they had solid lines and a few scenes , it wouldn’t
have disappointed the wolverine fan in me.
The Aspects I absolutely Loved
The cameos I absolutely loved all the cameos and I
loved how some of those are foreshowing the upcoming marvel films, lets take
Johhny storm played by Chris Evans in an older Fantastic four film has been
pruned, making a point that the Upcoming Fantastic Four happens in a completely
different world. The same can be observed with the cameo of Blade, which is now
getting a reboot with Mahershala Ali playing the titular role. This felt like a
homage to the actors and the characters while subtly hinting about their
characters emerging out in the Upcoming Avengers films. Speaking of cameos, we
also got to see Mephisto the king of Hell after a lot of fans speculating his
appearance since Wanda Vision. We also got some references about our god of
mischief even, the people in the theatre erupted when he was mentioned.
So, That's all I have to say , thanks for sparing your time and reading my nonsense , if you have nothing much to do then watch it theatres ,
it was fun overall watching favorite characters on screen packed with finely
chiseled bodies and cranky soundtrack and for some good comedy.
